I've spoken with the lincoln concierge and they told me that if the website says it is up to date, then it is. Not too confident in that answer. I did go to cars.com and look at a bunch of other 2019 navigators VIN and entered it into the sync update website. None, however, were further along than us. I'm assuming lincoln just decided not to update it for some reason.

Hi Thielios. Yes, it does seem odd your 2019 Navigator has had no updates since SYNC v3.0.17302. However, considering what you found out on Cars.com, what Lincoln Concierge told you would certainly seem to be the correct/expected answer.

Normally I would recommend also trying the VINS from a few 2020 Navigators off Cars.com. However, they would be equipped with SYNC 3.4, which has an entirely different set of updates.

Keep us updated on any new information and good luck.

thanks Theilios & Sean for USB info.

Ok, for something completely odd, I was on the Ford Sync site checking my 19 Mustang (it has an update).

Entered my 18 navigator and said up to date. BUT when I use the Lincoln site I have then there is an update - to what I don’t know, but I currently have 17302. But maybe it’s just for Maps?

(and, it was a senior moment, when I first looked and commented I saw two updates but really it’s either order a USB for $40 or Download! )

Great idea pulling random VINs from cars.com. So I did the same thing, but went back to earlier years:

2016s - v3.0.20204
2017s - v3.0.20204
2018s - v3.0.17302
2019s - v3.0.17302
2020s - v3.4.21020

So it appears that only the 2018 and 2019 Navigators are stuck on the really old version, with older model years getting updates to a newer version.

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be? Were there hardware differences from 2016 through 2019?

Hi Torquer. One possibility (just a wild guess) concerning the 2016-2017 model years: The original SYNC 3.0.xxxxx versions in the 2016-2017 models (perhaps with SYNC 3.0.15xxxxx, SYNC v3.0.16xxx or pre SYNC v3.0.17302) needed sompatibility updates to address issues with newer versions of the Android/iOS operating systems. Compatibility updates which SYNC v3.0.17302 already had coded in so did not need?

Concerning the 2020 model year: SYNC 3.4 is a hardware and software upgrade over SYNC 3.0.xxxxx, (not an "update" of SYNC 3.0.xxxxx), so it can not be compared at all.

Again, just a theory. Good luck.

As an aside, I logged on to the owner site and not showed I have an update to 21020 available. Well, that's th update I previously did. I called SYNC support and was told that even though the site gives steps to report a successful update, it is not actually an available feature.

So, you may login and see an update but please check what version is actually in your vehicle. I just wasted a bunch of time lol.
