Hello All!

2001 T/C which had the factory Alpine Ford radio in it and sounded terrible...not to mention I live in the mountains of Kentucky and radio reception sucks, So upgraded to a Kenwood double din # DNX577S with Sirius and Garmin GPS. So it's all hooked up and everything functions like it should EXCEPT I have a crackle noise or pop noise coming out of the speakers. Let me try and explain this...if you ever listened to a dirty record on a record player and it makes a crackle pop noise from the dirt, that's what I'm getting intermittingly through all the speakers...the louder you go the more you can hear it.

It makes this noise even with the car not running and the key in the run or accessory position so I know it's not engine or alternator related. I was told by a friend that it's my factory speakers that can't handle the power from the new Kenwood radio because there is more power coming out of it than what was in the car. But they make this noise even at low volume...so I'm kinda at a loss....paid over 800.00 for the radio, if i need speakers you al have any thoughts?

That almost definitely sounds like a loose connection on your input side. Make sure all your input connections are clean, tight and in good condition. The power of the radio to speakers has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Thank you! This had a factory Ford Alpine Stereo in it with a CD changer in the trunk does anyone know if this would have a factory Amplifier and if so where it would be located?
