Hello everyone,

i have a 1998 Lincoln 4WD Nav and a big problem. When switching to 4 wheel drive it changes, but returning to 2 wheel drive has no effect. It gets stuck in 4x4. Is it possible to change it manually and do you think it is a problem with the crank shift actuator? Any help appreciated.

I owned a 98 Navigator for 15 years. Got 375,000 miles out of it. Lubricating the transfer case solenoid actuator usually solves the problem with sticking in 4wd. I did mine 3 times.
