Hello, and sorry for the dumb question. I did search to no avail. Im new here. I have a 2003 Mustang Cobra, highly modded. LOVE Ford and Lincoln. Anyway thats a different animal. I recently purchased this LS and hoping I dont have to run 93. Maybe the ECU will adjust for 87? Just looking to get confirmation from one of you. Thank you in Advance.

I appreciate it guys. Im not too worried about performance. I have the Cobra for that. lol. I just wanted to make sure it doesnt knock. Sounds to me like the ECU retards timing to accommodate the lower octane, resulting in a less pep. Thats ok by me. I just go to and from work with it, cruzing on the highway. The cost of 87 right now will really help here.

No, don't run less than 91. I mix mine at the pump to get around 91 octane. 50/50 is not enough. I go about 6 gals. 93 to 5 gals 87 octane to get it. Runs great in both my V6 and v8 LSes. Saves money to blend it,since they overcharge for 93 octane nowadays.
