I just picked up my '17 CPO Certified Continental. I really like the car so far but am having what I believe to be are a couple of issues.

One: The images that are displayed by the front/rear/side/360 camera. They look very washed out - see attached photos. I tried adjusting the brightness on the touchscreen but that didn't help.

Can anyone advise on this? Is there something wrong with the cameras? Software? On my other car - a non-Lincoln -the camera images are much clearer. Thank you!

Rob it looks like the side mirror cameras are ok... so that would lead me to look at determining if something happened to the front and rear cameras-ie were they buffed or damaged from something like a high speed buffer... not sure if the lenses are glass or plastic, I will look at my ‘19 conti this morning and see...

You may want to get the cameras wet and see if they clear up at all, if they do that would also lead me to think they are scratched... I may be completely wrong but that is what I would do if i had a few year old car I picked up...

Thank you. I am having a local dealership check them out next week.

I have this very issue with my 2017 Reserve. For what it’s worth, here’s what I’m going through with my Lincoln dealer. The Lincoln dealer replaced a module that it says controlled the video output of the cameras. Well, that didn’t work and after a few more days they told me the problem was with the Sync software. However, they said the Lincoln software download site was down and Lincoln had no idea when it would be back. This was just the week before last. Fortunately, I have the concierge service so they just brought the car back and I rescheduled the ‘fix’ for this coming week. We’ll see. I can only relay what I am being told, so keep that in mind. Like I said, we’ll see.

It looks like a hardware issue, and the replaced camera modules seem to confirm that. I'll bet that if there were a way to get in there and clean the back of those lenses it would clear it up. My 2017 has the same issue btw.

I just had my rear camera replaced and it is very nice now. It seems like an easy fix that was done under the warranty. Before the fix it was exactly like the fotos above.

Thanks for posting this. I just bought a 2017 Continental Reserve and mine are blurry. The car is still under warranty, so I am taking it to the dealer to correct. I was shocked that the camera view on a car like this was so poor, so it must be a camera issue or something. I have been trying to update the Sync software, but the site is down now as well...

I forgot to update my post after taking it to the dealer. They replaced the rear camera and everything is fine on mine now.

Hi all, I just traded a 2017 for another 2017(to get a few more options), my first one had the blurry camera, ironically this one which was made a couple weeks from the other has the same camera issue so clearly was a problem. Does anyone happen to know if there is a actual service bulletin for this issue I can refer to the service tech to save time, I literally have days left on the original warranty.

Hi JJP. Not to my knowledge. Make a service appointment immediately, since you are so close to the end of your New Car Warranty. Ask the Service Writer if there are any Service Bulletins.

It seems to be more of an issue when something abrasive has been rubbed/run over the lens. Not saying all the time, but some of the time.

However, I am sure another member will jump in if they have information on a service bulletin or otherwise.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Those camera images are unacceptable. Your dealer should have had that corrected before he put it on the lot. I see a Warranty claim here. Opps, just saw that this is an old thread and OP inactive. Sorry.

Thanks guys, seems they are going to replace cameras.
I had two replaced last week, much better, the other two are back ordered Nation wide. After owning tons of other vehicles, I'm noticing these cameras are just ok. Looks like they are using cheap cameras that keep having issues.

The dealer will replace a blurry camera under warranty and they do it pretty fast as well.
