There is no adjustment procedure for the hood latch. I have attached all the diagrams and procedures (4) in one document. The adjustment appears to be through the latch mounting screws but you are supposed to mark the location of the latch before removal.
In my experience with balky hood latches the problem is lubrication. I would try cleaning all the latch components thoroughly and then lubricating them before trying to make adjustments.
Thanks as always. On my 1995 Continental, there was an adjustment on the cable end located in the pull handle assembly...... I'll do as you suggest and spray all the moving parts I can see with sillicon, wipe them clean and then use some lithium grease on the latch itself.
