Winter wheels and tires
A bit early for winter next year, but perhaps current owners have a winter package already. I am very interested in learning the wheel size that works. The 18" wheel size is much cheaper than the 19" size through my dealer but the brakes on my ordered Continental are spec'd at 18" rotors on front and 17" rotors on back so I cannot see how 18" wheels will fit. The US Premiere version has 18" wheels, but I cannot find their brake rotor size.
Any help is appreciated.

Tire Rack offers 18, 19, 20, 21 inch options for the 2017 Continental with 2.7 AWD. I think there is an assumption that a -1 rim should fit because most cars have much smaller rotors than Lincoln are specking for the Canadian Continental (US Premiere has 18" rims but what size rotors). How can an 18" rim fit over the caliper on an 18" rotor? Perhaps the Canadian spec is wrong, but US site does not give rotor size. I think the MKS has 14" or 15" rotors so 18" for a similar sized car is huge.

I contacted Lincoln Canada Concierge service and the 18" front rotors and 17" rear rotors are confirmed. Since the Continental Premiere is not sold in Canada they would not comment on the 18" rims on that model.

Advance Auto Parts' US website lists the 2017 Lincoln Continental Reserve 2.7 AWD brake rotor diameter as 345mm (13.6") for the front and 316mm (12.4") for the rear. That sounds a lot more reasonable. The 18" rims will therefore fit and allow a slightly taller and narrower 235/50R18 wheel package which is better for winter. The overall diameter is 27.4" compared to stock 245/45R19 and the 245/40R20 at 27.7".
As a matter of interest the above site lists the 2016 Lincoln MKS with larger brake rotors, 352mm (13.8") front and 344.9mm (13.6") rear.

My dealer has 2 new Continentals in stock today (Sunday). One outside, a Reserve with 19" wheels and one inside the locked showroom with 20" wheels. The tires are 255/45R19 Michelin Primacy MXM4 which are very wide with a tall sidewall. The sidewall is 4.5" and the diameter is 28.1". So a winter tire may be the 235/50R19 which has a sidewall of 4.6" and a diameter of 28.3". The window sticker did not have any information on tire size, so it does not seem to be an optional size. The Fast winter 19" wheel direct fit for the Continental is CAD$210 and the Toyo Observe GSI-5 winter tire (235/50R19) is also CAD$210.
I will go see my dealer tomorrow to get more info on that 19" tire and see what tire size is on the latest 20" wheel. The last Continental at my dealer had the 20" wheels and 245/40R20 tires, and at 27.7" tall are not nearly as impressive as the new 19" tires.

I confirmed the 20" tire size is 245/40R20 with my dealer and the Michelin Canada website for the Michelin Primacy MXM4.
I talked to the parts guy at my dealer, Josh, about the Lincoln Winter tire and wheel package. The anticipated 2017-18 winter package for the Continental, based upon last years offering will use 18" painted wheels as a direct fit and likely cost $300 to $400 each. Josh checked on a direct fit Fast wheel (the Switch) with part number F212-1980-31TN-40C633 for $221.92 plus taxes. It is a size 19x8 with 5x108 bolt pattern, offset of 55mm (compared to 52.5mm stock), 63.4mm hub bore which is stock, and the colour is Titanium which I like. The winter tire I like is the Toyo Observe GSI-5, and for the Continental comes in size 235/50R19 at $287.89. The tire pressure sensors would be free so the package price is CAD$2,304.34 including taxes.
Availability of the Lincoln winter wheel/tire promotion is about October.
