About 1850 rpm at 62 mph (again - small tach display).

Thanks for all the info. Gearing is everything and I forgot to add that I believe mine is 2.73. With that it should be a pretty low rpm at higher speeds. Just checked the gas mileage the other day and at 60mph I'm still getting a solid 26.3mpg on flat highway. With 103,000 now on the car I consider that outstanding. Also have been remembering to change the differential 75/140 every 20-25,000 miles. I use Royal Purple synthetic. That has made all the difference in the world at keeping wear on the gears down to just about zero. You can still see the hash marks on the gears!

Car and Driver tested the 2017 Continental 3.0 liter with 255/45R19 tires and 3.39 axle ratio and said it did 32.4 mph per 1,000 rpm. That would be 1,913 rpm at 62 mph and 2,469 rpm at 80 mph. My Continental 2.7 has the same tires and either 3.16 axle ratio (likely) or the 2.77 axle ratio spec'd by Lincoln (who also spec 3.39 for the 3 liter). The tach is small and divisions are at 500 rpm instead of 250 rpm on my old Town Car with a large tach. My tach at 62 mph shows 1,800 to 1,900 rpm (noticeable gap to 2,000 rpm).
