Just replaced my moms thermostat in her 02 Continental I’m new to this forum and to working on cars lol everything is good as the fan is working again and it takes longer to overheat lol. Should I swap out the water pump next?
Since you are new to troubleshooting auto systems, I would suggest you get yourself a factory service manual.
It will have a list of steps to take when troubleshooting a problem.
It will also tell you the temperatures when the low and high speed fan kick on and off.
The manuals are not expensive and come on a DVD.
One thing to keep in mind on these cars is, it can be difficult to get all the air out of the cooling system.
Check on line for how to videos and descriptions on how to get the cooling system completely full.
