    Question WEIGHT OF TWO MKS's

I have 2 MKS's, a 2014 and a 2015. They both have the 3.7L standard engine, and have identically equipped options---Tri-coat paint, Elite package, All wheel drive, Dual panel moon roof, Technology package, 20" wheels, Cold weather package, California emissions and Front License plate bracket---every package and option available.

According to the NYS titles and NYS registrations, the 2014 weighs 4151 pounds and the 2015 weight 4274 pounds. This astounds me, as the two 2002 Town Cars they replaced only weighed 3955 pounds (Signature) and 3978 pounds (Cartier). The Town Cars were 7" longer and the wheelbase on them was 6" longer. They also had cast iron V-8 engines and full steel frames which the MKS's do not have.

How can the MKS's weigh more than the Town Cars and why the 123 pound discrepancy between the two MKS's ??? The only thing different on the 2015 MKS versus the 2014 MKS is a slightly different trunk lid which might weigh 4 or 5 pounds more or less than the 2014 lid. ANY IDEAS ???

Why don't you call a Lincoln concierge and ask the question? See if they can get the answer.

At autobytel.com the curb weight of the 2014 is 4204. the curb weight of the 2015 is 4126. Notice the 2015 is lighter by 78. Verify this by a phone call to Lincoln.
