"Factory Ford" from the car's time period; never used on a Town Car (that I know of).

I like em! The back one does look a bit out of place but there's really no better place to put it, not bad!

[h=2]Do these "V8" embelms look out-of-place on a Town Car? [/h]Answer: Yes
Reason: What else would be in a Town Car?

When a vehicle has a V8 Emblem, it is usually because there was another option for that model. A good example of this is the Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, which came with either a V8 or an Inline 6-Cylinder.

Cadillacs used various "V" emblems for decades when their only engine was a V8.

Fairly certain Cadillac was not using a V designed emblem as mush as they were using it as a wing. If you Google/Bing 'cadillac emblem', the emblems of the past hardly look like a letter V. Yes, the emblem in question resembles a V but I think it's clear that wasn't what GM was going for.

I could be wrong. Anyone else?

You're just not going to admit that you are wrong, hey?

:)

Please see THIS LINK and note that not one emblem on that first page depicts an 8.

In 1915, Cadillac introduced a 90-degree flathead V8 engine with 70HP. After extensive searching of image files, the V you reference first appeared in 1942 (and was most likely a 'V for Victory' as we were in the midst of WWII) and was last seen on the 1965 model.

I don't mind being wrong as it generally indicates I have learned something. Hopefully, you learned something today as well.

I invite anyone to provide more information, even if it contradicts what I have provided.

You know I guess this falls under the category of customization so if you like the stickers, and they look good to you, then that's all that matters right?

As mbertrand98 states:if you like it that is all that matters! What a buddy of mine put on his 92 Town Car were the V8 emblems from a 2007 F-150,the stylized copies of the ones used in the 30's and they look great! I'm considering the same...It is interesting that Cadillac only JUST eliminated the "V" for the 2015 model year! My recollection about the story in Hemmings was that it never symbolized V8 power(as the anemic Cateras and Cimarrons never had a V8)but the elegant vee was just a styling accent to underscore the crest! My 63 Superior 3 way coach had it in three locations and my grandfathers last Cadillac(1975)had it all over and inside as well! All the best!

I like it. But then again I have two thrush bird stickers on my Town Car from when I bought my glass packs for it

At the end of it all that's the only thing that matters.

Not if the OP asks our opinion! Then it really matters to him/her what we think. And for the most part, anyone who says they don't care what other people think of their choices is lying.

My opinion -- these look tacky and silly. Monster cars like that are expected to have V8's. If it had a V12, that would be something worth tagging.

Correction: I meant 1975 model. I've not come across a later Cadillac that had the V. There wer a few years that is went missing as well.
