The vent solenoid is an integral part of the air suspension compressor on Town Cars. If the vent solenoid fails it cannot be repaired because in removing the unit it is further damaged and cannot be replaced in the compressor assembly. If the vent solenoid is stuck open then the compressor assembly must be replaced. If the vent solenoid is stuck closed then it can be bypassed using a new external vent solenoid and the attached procedure.
The vent solenoid usually fails in the closed position due to corrosion caused by very wet air venting through the drier to the vent solenoid. So you probably need a new drier or the current one reconditioned through this procedure: http://lincolnforums.com/forums/threads/10647-Town-Car-Air-suspension-compressor-drier-service
Good luck.
